About Me

I’m Giorgia, a Sicilian creative who has been living in Malta since 2017. My journey was born from the meeting of two seemingly different worlds: the digital world, shaped by structure, research, and design, and the artistic world, driven by intuition, material, and expression.

I began my career in the digital field, working in customer service, marketing, and later as an SEO Specialist. This journey taught me how to observe, analyze, and give structure to ideas, transforming them into experiences capable of communicating with and reaching people.

After seven years, however, I felt the need to pause and search for something beyond productivity and performance. After leaving my position as an SEO Specialist, I chose to dedicate time to learning and experimentation, taking various courses in graphic design, web design, and UX/UI design, while gradually moving closer to the language of art.

That was when painting became my first true space for exploration. I felt the need to give shape to symbols, images, and intuitions that emerged spontaneously, allowing the creative process itself to guide me. Later came glass and macramé — two very different materials, yet both capable of expressing something profound through light, matter, and the movement of the hands.

Glass fascinates me because of its fragility and the way light transforms it, revealing its colours, depth, and nuances. Macramé, on the other hand, brought me back to the simplicity of making things by hand, through threads, knots, and interweaving. My grandmother used to work with crochet and wool, but I discovered that I felt closer to something even more essential: my own hands.

Someone looking at my journey might think that I do too many things. Perhaps they might even think that dedicating yourself to so many disciplines means you risk never truly excelling in any of them. I, however, have learned to see this multiplicity differently.

Everything I have explored has led me to discover a part of myself that I didn’t know existed. The digital world taught me structure, design taught me how to observe, painting taught me how to feel, glass taught me how to work with light, and macramé taught me the value of slowness, patience, and the hands.

Perhaps I am not looking for one single thing to do for the rest of my life. Perhaps my purpose is to continue discovering who I am through what I create. And perhaps spending a lifetime exploring, learning, experimenting, and allowing each experience to reveal something new is already a form of calling.

Today, my work is born from the intersection of all these experiences. My digital background taught me to design with intention and awareness, while my artistic practice taught me to listen to intuition, embrace the unexpected, and allow the process to reveal the work.

Nature, light, material, and human experience are at the heart of my creative research. I choose each material carefully, paying attention to its texture, weight, presence, and the way it interacts with our senses. I believe that what we create can become a tool for knowledge, expression, and connection.

I don’t simply create decorative objects. I create through a process of personal exploration, giving form to feelings, symbols, and meanings that might otherwise remain invisible.

Each piece is therefore an encounter between material and intention, structure and intuition, delicacy and strength. It is a part of my journey transformed into form, colour, and matter.
